Space Utilization for Stations

Some carriers may want to control the space utilization by the stations for free sales. In such instances, the carrier can configure Cargospot so that space reserved for the Agent is for CA bookings, but for space reserved for Station and Group Station bookings, is for free sales bookings. When this feature is enabled, the Flight Capacity at the station is replaced by the space reserved for that station or the group allocation.

This functionality is configured by the [awb] availStation parameter in the program.ini.

The following scenario illustrates this functionality.

• Flight XS037M 05APR15 LHR-MNL with total flight capacity of 120,000 kg weight and 380 volume.
• Agent Allotment LHRMNLAGTAVL of 1,000 kg weight and 10 volume for Agent 9100017-1111 of LHR station.

  

• Station Allotment LHRMNLSTNAVLY of 5,000 kg weight and 50 volume for MAN station.

  

In the following screen capture, a user from the LHR station creates a booking for Agent 9100017-1111 for a 100 kg-shipment against the allotment LHRMNLAGTAVL.

The shipment is displayed as CA in the flight utilization of Flight XS037M 05APR15 LHR-MNL in the Availability tab of Main > Booking screen.

The user from the MAN station is able to view the flight utilization of flight XS037M 16APR15 LHR-MNL in the Availability tab of Main > Booking screen. Since [awb] availStation is set to Y, the user from the MAN station only sees the Station Allotment LHRMNLSTNAVLY of 5,000 kg weight and 50 volume as the total flight capacity.

Note: When a user from the MAN station books against the LHRMNLSTNAVLY allotment with Alloc CA, the system displays the error message: Allotment not found. Free Sale (KK) booking can be booked, not CA.

The user from the LHR station is able to view the flight utilization of Flight XS037M 16APR15 LHR-MNL in the Availability tab of Main > Booking screen. The station allocation displayed with reserved space 5,000/50. The original flight capacity is displayed. The availability information displayed is the Flight Capacity minus station allocation.

Important: Space utilization by the stations for free sales is not the default behavior. When [awb] availStation is set to N, the flight capacity is as is and not limited to the allotment for the station.
