Allotment Behavior in Cargospot

Allotments or permanent booking is space reserved for the agent or the station. This space is used by the agent or the station to book shipments. Maintaining allotments is one of the primary functions of a station user as a part of capacity planning and revenue management.

Station and Group Allotment

By default (when [awb] availStation=N), Cargo Allocation CA booking can be made to the space allocated to Agents, Stations, or Group of Stations while the Flight Capacity remains as is.

However, Cargospot can be configured so that the space allocated to Stations or Group of Stations becomes the Flight Capacity (when [awb] availStation=Y). When configured as such, only Free Sale (KK) bookings can be made in the Stations. Agent allotments can still exist in the Station as a subset of that Station's allotment. CA booking can be made to the Agent allotments.

Allotments And Flight Schedules

The Allotment Template or Master Allotment can be created even before flights are created for the duration. However, the allotments for the days require that the flights are already created in the system. Allotments can be created immediately for the active period (existing flights). The Nightly Schedule process checks for newly created flight schedules and creates the allotments as required.

Leg and Segment

Allotments in Cargospot are based on flight segments, not flight legs.
For example, the flight routing DXB–CMB–SIN–MEL has the following legs:
  • DXB-CMB
  • CMB-SIN
  • SIN-MEL
The segments of the flight routing DXB–CMB–SIN–MEL are:
  • From DXB
    • DXB-CMB
    • DXB-SIN
    • DXB-MEL
  • From CMB
    • CMB-SIN
    • CMB-MEL
  • From SIN
