ASM FLT
ASM FLT sub-types are processed by the system to change or update the flight number on a single flight.
It is advisable to cancel the flight first before updating with the new flight number. In some cases, you can keep the old flight record in the system with a canceled status, along with the new record with the new flight number. A copy of the ASM FLT is saved and associated to both flight records. All previous flight messages are retained and associated to the old flight. New messages received for the new flight number are stored and associated to the new flight record.
The following scenario illustrates this functionality.
An existing flight record for Flight XS 5128 with Flight Date of
01NOV15.
A previously received ASM EQT is listed.
An ASM FLT is received to change the flight number from XS 5128 to
XS 5182.
Flight XS 5128 is now canceled.
The ASM EQT and the ASM FLT are both listed in the message Record
List.
The new record for flight XS 5182 is created. The new flight record can
be accessed in the Flights tab of screen or in the Flight Export tab of screen.
The flight details of the new and the old record are exactly the same. Clicking Show
Messages opens the received messages for the new flight record.
The ASM FLT is listed for flight XS 5182.
