Retrieving Records from the Database

Certain fields in Cargospot are linked to the database. In such cases, you have the additional option of retrieving the record from the database instead of manually entering the information in the field. Clicking the Look Up button () of a field navigates you to the Search window of the database table for the record you want to retrieve.

1. Click the Look Up button () of the field where you want to enter information.

   In this example, we are retrieving Forwarder records for the Agent field.

   
   
   
2. In the Search window, you can look up the available data from the database by entering search data in one or more of the fields presented.
   
   
3. Highlight the record or row required.
4. Click Retrieve.

If the hyperlink () is selected, the system automatically navigates you to the Forwarders screen. You can also create a new record if it is not yet available in the database provided you have the appropriate access rights.
