Other or Local Charges

The Other/Local Charges screen or OC-Charges screen contains all relevant parameters and formulas for a particular charge record. The Other/Local Charges screen can be viewed in Master Data > Other/Local Charges.

These charges are usually reviewed twice a year, during the summer or winter periods. On the other hand, Fuel Surcharge is based on the international cost of fuel.

Applicable OC Code may vary for each station. The Formula and the Weight Type may vary for each record in the system. All OC codes to be used in creating charges need to be set up first in the Other Charges screen. You can do this by clicking the OC Code hyperlink.

The most commonly used OCs are the following:
  • Air Waybill Fee
  • Fuel Surcharge
  • Security Surcharge
  • Dangerous Goods Fee

The IATA standard Charge Codes for these OCs are AW, MY, SC, and RA respectively. In some cases, airlines may decide to use or set a different code for these mentioned OCs.

Fuel Surcharge are added to the pricing of a shipment to cover additional costs when fuel prices increase. The Fuel Surcharge record is created in Cargospot with OC Codes MYC and FSC. For Security Surcharge, the OC Codes SCC and SEC are used.

Other additional fees are applied to the price of the shipment when sending dangerous goods. The Dangerous Goods Fee record is also created in Cargospot with an OC Code RAC or Restricted Articles.

Note: For OCs to be automatically added to all air waybills from a particular Origin, you need to enter the applicable codes in the Default OC field in the Carrier tab of the Station Setting screen.
